March 2019: Member of Month

Natatia VanEllison

Spotlight – Each month the District recognizes a member for outstanding accomplishments in earning educational awards, in marketing their club or serving above and beyond what is expected.

Natatia is currently a Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) teacher at Herschel V. Jenkings High School. For the most part, she has been teaching for 23-years.

In addition, she serves as the school’s professional learning coordinator and THRIVE! New Teacher Induction Coordinator. As a teacher leader, she aspires to serve as a role model for her colleagues and students, and therefore, she continues to challenge herself to seek opportunities to enhance her professional and personal growth. As a result, she rejoined Toastmasters in December of 2015, and decided to hone her speaking and leadership skills.

In fact, she is aspiring to earn her Distinguished Toastmasters Award by June 2020. Next, she took on the challenge to complete her Educational Leadership Tier II certification, and pursue her final chapter of her career in School Administration. So, she dreams hard, works hard, and remains resilient even when she takes on too many challenges.

Finally, Toastmasters International has given her an opportunity to uncover what someone once told her about herself, “…a diamond in the rough,” who shines brightly when given an opportunity to do so.

She would like to “Thank you, Savannah Toastmasters Club 705 members for your support, and an opportunity to shine brightly!”

Latatia considers it an honor to receive the District 14 SPOTLIGHT for Member of the Month!
