Spotlight – Each month the District recognizes a member for outstanding accomplishments in earning educational awards, in marketing their club or serving above and beyond what is expected
Jennifer is an author, mentor, fitness-junkie, and a proud Army retiree with over 24 years of active service. She retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 2000, and since her second retirement, she has been using her experiences in the Army to share her tools for success with others. Toastmasters has the right formula for her! Always a fun environment that offers an opportunity to learn, share and practice!
Jennifer’s post-military employment was with Augusta University, College of Dental Medicine as Director for Patient Services, and she’s also pursued her goals of teaching in higher education by working with the University of Phoenix-Augusta, Georgia Campus. She started as an Associate Faculty member and was subsequently promoted to Area Chair for the School of Business. In 2009, she was honored to be awarded the University of Phoenix local campus Faculty of the Year. She is enjoying retirement and traveling with her husband of 40 plus years, 1SG Louis McNeill (ret), her daughter, Montrece, and granddaughter, Alyxandra. She is also excited to have the time to pursue areas that she enjoys, one of which is being a Toastmaster. Also, she’s recently become a published author Stripes Strength and Lipstick, a book about her military experiences as a foundation by discussing leadership and risk-taking. In August last year Jennifer had the honor of addressing her ‘process’ for transitioning successfully from boots to heels for a community event in Charleston SC.
Currently, she serves as the president for the Georgia Carolina Toastmasters. Although she serves as one of the “administrative” leaders for the club, she feels one of her most important responsibilities is to share her love of Toastmasters with others.
